I don't really like the reverse strike, but I think the coin is very clean and love the overall appearance. I am guessing MS65+.
Damn. 66 and CAC'd. Wasn't expecting that, especially with that marshmallow/cloud/cotton strike! Still, the coin still does have terrific eye appeal.
EDITED between that mark between the rays of the sun and the bad strike I'd have never believed it and a bean too personally I'd say sell it for as much as you can to someone that buys the slab not the coin and go buy yourself a super crisp beauty of the same date. I'm an early coins guy and I'll forgive a bad strike pre 1800 but beyond that especially post industrial revolution seated coinage era I like when they reAlly ring the bell on strike!! Some things modern technology not an improve!!
Walking Liberty halves are actually notorious for very weak strikes, the details were very difficult to strike well. I have a 1942s that graded 65/65 by Anacs in a photo certificate and NGC graded it ms64. However to me it looks to be AU50 at best. But grade is determined relative to the strike of other coins of that same year and mint mark. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
