I'd like to know the grade of this dime I found in my pocket change, to put in an album. I am using the grade to determine the grade on other coins I have (and test my photo skills). The coin is NOT a proof coin! jcakcoin
Honestly I think your picture is to dark to tell. Also we know that is not a proof..Proof's dont have "D" as mint marks To help you with grading, you can go here : http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/ and pick up one of these: http://www.whitmanbooks.com/Default.aspx?Page=81&ProductID=0794819931 Official ANA Grading Standards for United States Coins very helpful!
Got new pics, after spending an hour tweaking up the picture.:thumb: The obverse has fingerprints, and I haven't touched them with bare hands, since the store.
Better pics but that obverse is a tad out of focus when you enlarge it. Is that a fingerprint I'm seeing? Sure ain't lookin' like flow lines.....
Its a finger print. Spend it. Go buy an unc roll from the bank and find one without a finger print if you really wanna get it graded. Don't get a brand new coin graded from circulation. Too many potential problems. Finger prints, bag marks, pocket lint...... Oh, and as for grade: AU-58
Thanks guys. I have way better ones I learned my lesson on fingerprints. As an experiment, I ate a greasy burger, and then started touching a coin (a bad one), and it didn't fare well. Now I know to NEVER touch coins! I must've put the fingerprint on when taking the second picture of it. Wasn't like that originally (really)
