Reverse looks clean but there seems to be much 'chatter' on the obverse........'64 with a bump to '65 because of the colorful toning.......
64* for the toning, but I don't see it in a 65 because there appears to be some facial marks under the toning. Chris
64*. Beautiful coin--- incredible toning. I would say that the cheek marks keep it from being a 65, but who cares? The coin is amazing looking.
This coin just sold for $12,337. I would say it got a bump for color and another bump because its part of Stack's phony 57th hoard. http://www.stacksbowers.com/BrowseAuctions/LotArchive/tabid/805/AuctionID/6039/Lot/5127/Default.aspx
That is insane-- 12 grand for that date??? Yes it is beautiful, but there is a limit--- there are many pretty coins for that date.
I love nicely toned Morgan's, and missed the chance to guess. But that price is crazy for that coin. Yes.....the color added to it, but I'd say the "57th St" added more as well.
