Just the usual guess the grade...photos from seller (the coin is not mine, I'm just interested in seeing some opinions). Thank you!
Honestly, I can't really tell. The mottled toning kind of turns me off on this coin. Iowa halves typically run fairly high on the grading scale, so a 65 would not surprise me. But, honestly, if I were in the market for one, I'd look for a better one.
This might actually just be terrible photography. The coin might be nice. Either way, Impossible to tell grade
65. Perhaps everything other than the eye appeal of the coin is 66 or better, but I can't get past the toning.
I say 65 but an ugly coin, this comm, usually grades in the 65-67 range as the strikes were good. However not a favorite by any means in comm coins.
I can't read the luster from those pictures. Somewhere between 64 and 67. I would tend to the low side as a guess.
One should never invest......one should collect. Too danged risky to 'invest'. I have a feeling that the photos of the subject coin were hastily prepared without regard to proper lighting and focus.
And, for the record, I'd love a crack at photog'ing the original coin in question. I suspect it's much better in hand than in the shots portrayed...........
It likely is....here is the full holder. It is listed on ebay for 29k from one of everybody's 'favorite' sellers. Anyone expect this?
