i just can't see the wear. i knew after i voted 66 there'd be no way pcgs would give a woodie a gem+ grade, so it'll probably be 65.

I also voted 66, eye appeal is a very subjective thing, but the looks of this one appeal to me.

Beautiful coin , but I went 64 only because PCGS seems to downgrade woodies by a grade or more .

The reason I put this as a freebee was because I have no idea how to explain this grade and apparently neither do any of you. There are a couple small ticks on it, but nothing to keep it from a 66. Great strike and pretty nice luster. Not booming luster, but close. I would probably give it a 65+ or a 66, but not PCGS. They gave it a 91 - Questionable Color (Any artificial re-toning & dipped copper.). Say what? I have seen this pattern on several coins and the background appears to be a bit brassy, but that is usually what happens when you get copper stripes on a coin.

Believe me, I had no problem accepting it. Just explaining it!
