Wear-wise I think it's around VF-25. It has a pretty good rim ding and quite a few obverse scratches, but because it's an old coin and has an overall pleasing look, I'm going to guess it was net graded as F-15.

I think you are a bit too generous with VF25. It’s a very nice dollar, but I grade it F15… possibly CAC if the rim issues aren’t too bad in hand.

The lines in the hair are adjustment marks. there is a light mark on the neck.

Now there's a coin that worked fo a living, passing through many a hand.

    I echo Michael's assessment above.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    WOW.

Just when I think I'm getting bored with all the generic stuff being posted and don't want to comment anymore.... you go and post something like this.

An absolutely beautiful, original, gem circulated cameo! This is the kind of coin people dream about. My only real quibbles with the coin are a couple of rim dings, particularly k5 on the reverse. Other than that, this is a beautiful coin.

I don't know the strike peculiarities for this variety (every variety is different!).

But I'm waffling between F-15 (a rare grade) and a full VF-20. I lean towards the 20, largely because of the strength of the dentils and stars. The leaves in the wreath are also particularly strong.

Congrats on a fantastic coin. (and please don't wait till Friday... maybe Wednesday?)
