I'm sending these 4 coins in to PCGS to be graded. Here are the rules. 1. The 1st person to correctly guess all 4 grades will receive a silver quarter. 2. The 1st person to correctly guess 2 grades will receive a silver dime. 3. The 1st person to correctly guess 1 grade will receive a mixed bag of wheat cents. The contest will close as soon as I get the grades from PCGG. This will take about 3 weeks, this gives a long time for a person to guess all 4 grades. Coin 1. 1834 CBD. Coin 2. 1908 Barber Dime. Coin 3. 1831 Capped Bust Dime. Coin 4. 1887 Morgan Dollar.
Can I ask why youre chosing to send these coins ? Seems like you're gonna be loosing money on both ends of this deal. #1 AU details cleaned #2 AU detail artificial color #3 VG details scratched #4 your only possible shot & the photo doesnt give me enough to make a call I'd be comfortable with. Maybe AU58 Maybe MS64 just cant see enough detail in the fields . These are all in my opinon, if you want to you want to its all good send them in but, if you're looking for problem free grades I think youre wasting your money. Oh & please do not count me in this contest .But good luck on your submission Ill hope for the best for you.
BTW, I also got trueview for the two toned coins, total cost for all coins was $164.95, including return shipping, which breaks down to about $41 a pop.
Why are people saying the morgan is details? It's NOT AT! Here is a morgan dollar with bullseye toning on the obverse, slabbed as problem free by PCGS. As you can see, bluish green, along the edges, with red in the inside. This matches my reverse well. The odd marks you see on my morgan dollar, on the edges, at 7 and 9 o clock is glare from the snap case it was in. Here is a closeup of the reverse. As you can see the toning has spilled into the denitcals just as it has on the slabbed one.
Really great pieces! Especially that Barber Dime!! Love the color on that one. You must be really nervous about what they might come back as, right? I sent my very first coin off to PCGS a week ago and the waiting is unbearable haha In any case here are my submissions though I do hope they come back better than what I think they will come back as. 1. EF-45 2. AU-58 3. PCGS Genuine VG Details 4. MS-65 (Really pretty toning!!) Good luck!!
