The coin appears to have had some kind of work done at one point or another. However, I don't think it is substantial enough for it to be held back from getting a grade.

Some of the points on the coin look kind of soft. Does this year/mintmark combo have a history of weak strikes?

I think I see some luster. Now, I could only tilt it. LMAO :p

Nothing is wrong with the strike and there are very few nicks on the coin. Although the spots are there, my pictures greatly amplified there visibility. They are actually pretty hard to see. It has most of its luster, but definitely not its strong suit. And there is a light rub on his cheek. I assume this is only cabinet friction. NGC gave it a 62. I really think that is a 63 - without that rub. With it, I guess I could go with the 62.

I missed the rub on his cheek , But I've seen 63's with slight rub . I still think from the pics it's a 63 , but then you have it in hand , still a nice '11-D .

    I almost went 62 but there's like zero hits....still a nice example!
