BLAZER! I see what looks like orange peel luster. It should get the nod, beautiful coin that deserves the grade.

I don't know Thad , with that line in the right obverse field and that hit on the reverse . Though if you get it right , I'll be wrong and you'll be in 1st place . ;)

Are those -4 points bad? I don't think so, no matter what, I'm right....either PCGS gets it right or wrong. :p

Thad called it right - sort of. Very nice luster and a full strike, but there are 4 (actually 5) nicks (or planchet marks). However, all 5 of those are deep enough to be visible in hand. So PCGS only gave it a 66. IMO. correctly so.

BTW, that spike coming out of his chin is shine.

Dang...thought it had enough for a 67. Oh well.

It sure looks nicer in the smaller pic . Dick if that line from his chin is shine , does that mean the luster is slightly impaired in that area ? It looked like it in the 1st pic .

Actually, in this case, the opposite. That line is brighter than the rest and nearly invisible in hand. I have no idea what caused it. From the planchet, maybe?

Sure looks nicer than a 66 from those pictures IMO. The 2 reverse field hits around O and N must have held it back because I bet this has the luster.
