Yes, that is a weak obverse. I am finding these rougher than the 26-S.

    I'm calling this one a MS62.
It is a very odd looking coin.

Well known for mushy strikes. Amost no hits and the color is quite nice actually. Most of these are kind of pinkish in MS.

    63RB

NOTE! I changed my grade, 63 will better position me in case I'm off.

Dick - Please use 63 not 64 when you figure up the scores. THANKS

    Ahhh another poor strike screwball....

Here are the pcgs grading standards as they reference strike... Anyone who thinks that strike is "average or above" had drunk the tpg coolaid...

I'll be interested to see if pcgs has walked the walk in grading this coin..... too many times they just talk the talk regarding strike....

    MS/PR-60
    strike may not be full
    MS/PR-61
    strike may not be full
    MS/PR-62
    strike may not be full
    MS/PR-62+
    strike may not be full
    MS/PR-63
    strike may not be full
    MS/PR-63+
strike will be close to average
    MS/PR-64
strike should be average or above
    MS/PR-64+
strike should be average or above
    MS/PR-65
    above average strike
    MS/PR-65+
above average strike and eye appeal

55+2=57 MS60 BN is as low as the choices go. I think there is light wear as well as a weak strike looking at the ear on the obverse and the right wheat stalk on the reverse.

going to be the odd ball 61. though it may be along the lines of a 62..

MS 62 mushy strike, not a whole lot of luster, and little eye appeal. Strange looking cent. I like it!

I doubt PCGS would put such a weakly struck coin in more than 64 plastic, so I guessed 64.

Strike should have little affect on the grade at this level. It is pretty clean, but not exactly excelling in eye appeal. 63 sounds about right to me, but I am not so sure of the brown.

63! I'm glad I changed my vote, I figured the reverse would hurt the grade.
