Early branch mint. I love these coins. I would say 64 and maybe a RB designation. Nice luster and color.
3b. I could see it in a 2 or a 4 holder. Tough coin to read. First obverse shot looks like a 64+, second one looks like a 62. lol
RLM's got a mean streak lately,, must be venting some pent up hate... ; ) Another tough coin, but I've seen many like this in 63 holders... then again, I've seen a bunch like this in 58 holders too. Coin flip results = 63
Sorry you did not like this coin. I do. It is not the world's most detailed strike. I looks like it was a solid strike with an old set of dies. There are only a couple tiny nicks and it has nice luster for a brown coin. It has kind of a bluish or slate cast to the coin, but I don't think it is from MS70. Anyhow, PCGS gave it a 64. I really think that is most fitting.
I agree with the 64 with the 2nd picture , but the 1st pic looked a grade and a half lower thus the 63 . Guess the 2nd pic is closer to the coin in hand .
I almost went 64, just too hard to see the luster...I'm sure that's what brought it over and kept it out of an AU58 holder.
Nice coin. The strike on the 17-d is tough. I am currently looking for a fully struck 17-d. Might be a while. Here is one I wish I had not sold.
Interesting coin. Is/was the luster really that dead or is that just the photo needed to show the color?
The toning really subdued the luster on this coin. It had a nice strike and very attractive color. Unfortunately you had to have a strong light source to enjoy it. The luster is the reason I sold the coin. It does show that the strike is out there.
