    1931-D ANACS "slabbed"

I thought I would throw you a clunker - an old ANACS "slab". Don't worry. I will not double charge your variances, but they graded both sides, so.......

NOTE: If you don't vote in the poll, your vote will not be counted

Most likely a big swing and miss at a breaking ball, but 62/63

Like PP, probably got it wrong.

On another note, what's up with Lincoln's ear and the crack in the edge at 5'o clock on the obverse? It looks kinda like PMD...

In hand, it is just the way it is toning.

Dick I should have asked you before I voted... XX / YY. does XX represent what you think it's graded should be and YY was what you think it was actually graded. I think it's a 61 but got graded a 63..

Look at the title of the poll. ANACS (and a couple others) used to grade the obverse and the reverse separately. The numbers are OBV / REV

  11. I voted 63/64 but only because it is ANACS. If PCGS or NGC, I would have said 62/63. TC

It looks like most everyone has entered their guess. How about we end these 2 tonight. http://www.cointalk.com/t122537/

I was not expecting many of you to get this one, but I was surprised. It was the most popular guess by far and several also only missed one side by 1. FWIW, I totaled the miss for each side and divided by 2. I think you all got it right as did ANACS, but I am not sure how NGC / PCGS would grade it - 63 or 64.

It would depend on the luster. Even though the obverse is fairly heavily oxidized, I suspect there's some cartwheel luster under it. If so, this could would likely get a 64 from NGC or PCGS IMO. The reverse is quite nice.

What I am saying is that, IMHO, it is pretty close to the edge 63 / 64. That is pretty much what ANACS said and I agree. And, yes, I do like the reverse.
