    Beautiful coin , easy 67 . Wouldn't be suprised at a 68 .

That's a strong 7 to me, and wonder if it wouldn't cross.

To my eye, this is about as nice as 67's get. Super strike, super luster, and not significant nick. It is bright amber with only a mild blotch in color. It is solidly a 67.

Dick , do you know what causes that orange peel effect around Lincolns face ?

I believe it is die fatigue. Someone will pipe in if I am wrong. But it is pretty much all over the coin, just a little more pronounced and photogenic at that point.

That's what I was thinking , but since it has such a strong strike I wasn't sure . Thanks .

Die wear, this is a LDS coin, you see it around all the obverse devices. Notice the halo effect around the protrait. Always bump these up a grade from what you may think, the late state imparts a very lusterous surface. It really makes a nickel glow!

I think that is a very correct observation about the LDS luster.
