1909- PCGS slabbed At least most of the scratches are on the slab, not the coin. NOTE: If you don't vote in the poll, your vote will not be counted
Toughie for sure - my initial impression was 62, but I bumped it. No telling if in hand if more luster is present than what I see.
Mercifully, I will end this one tomorrow as well as http://www.cointalk.com/t121387/. I suspect these 2 will each be a first in their own right.
Absolutely no one guessed low for this one. That is a first. OK, it does not have great eye appeal, but what is wrong with the strike? What here are the marks? It is not mark free, but neither are 67's. All that being said, I doubt I would give it a 65, but that is easily a 64. Maybe I should let Travis explain. He was the only one to get it right. :hail: Just think of it this way. Doug was the HIGHEST (safe Travis) grader here. That has got to be a first unto itself.
Another new leader this week. However, I suspect it was more because he missed this round. Top 10. I was thinking the same thing, but voted more liberally. I ended up doing the 61+ 2 for the in-hand effect, and ultimately voted MS-63.
I already hated the TPG's, now I hate them even more. Ain't no way in H-E-double toothpick this is a 65 coin. Especially if you compare it to the 64 VDB you just posted. PCGS and NGC just plain suck.
