Man, this one confuses me, because I could have sworn the last one was 67. I would say that the luster on this is 67, but that this is a 66 coin because of the scratch.
Crazy luster! Is that a field hit or a slab scratch in front of his nose? It makes all the difference for this one.
My best guess is a MS64 RED, I would have to say it could be a MS63 RED There are a lot of insignificant marks, The E PLURIBUS is a week strike which takes it down a notch as well, also the bigger nic's in th reverse lettering are "Noticeable" The nice bright above average luster moves it back up however. So without having it in hand I might say I would give it a MS64. If I had it in hand I suspect it would drop to a MS63 as I could see more up close and personal..
No, he not using older grading standards. He's using THE grading standards ! Ya see Caz, the only grading standards we have are those found in the PCGS book, written in 2004. And those found in the ANA book, written in 2006. And the standards found in the ANA book, are nothing more, or are supposed to be nothing more, than the standards being used by the TPGs. And that's the problem Caz, the TPGs are the ones NOT using standards, not even their own. Not old ones, not new ones, not any at all. It's like they just pull them out of the air !
67. They may pull them out of the air, as you say G, but they do so consistently, which is by my estimation more important.
So you don't care if they grade 'em 3 grades too high huh Mike ? As long as they grade all of them 3 grades too high.
