MS-63 BN (after seeing the other votes I seem to have low-balled this one)

Not exactly sure just what they really are (alloy mix?), but they are on the coin.

63 strike.. will stick with that, but 64 wouldn't surprise me.

After looking closely at those lines, I am now seeing the forest rather than the trees. There is an arc on the left that runs from between the wheats through ONE that I am pretty sure is alloy mix. I seems to be nearly identical radius as the coin. I am rather surprised that it is such a perfect arc, but I suppose that is possible. Also, there is a second line on the left as well as one on the right. Both of those lines I am nearly positive are Abe, He is heavily ghosted on the reverse of this coin. All of this makes for a rather interesting looking reverse.

64BN..Is the the 17-d known to have been weakly struck?

Tough coin in MS grades.....horrible LDS reverse, obverse a bit splotchy with dirt in the devices.

This is a weird coin. The obverse is pretty normal with nice luster for a brown coin. There are a couple nicks on Abe's cheek and something (PVC?) got to the luster below the bust. The reverse? I still think that arc on the left is alloy mix, but it is the perfect arc as on the coin. Is that even possible? Abe's ghost is very visible. It is so badly ghosted that the right wheats are only half there. And there is some real nice luster on Abe's head (the reverse head, that is). Anyhow, PCGS called this a 63. I would more tend to a 64, but there is so much going on here I cannot really argue with their number.

BTW, I am pretty sure this is the first time Doug has over-graded a coin here.
