This one's going to be a toughie, I think. I guessed 40, but really had a tough time getting the feel for the amount of luster (and thus the grade) on this one.
Yeah, we got from genuine through 53 complete so far. Anyone care for 55 or 58 and them all possibilities will have been covered?
LOL! I dare someone....I almost pushed the 30 button and I think it probably is a 30 but I decided to use the baha +1 method because I've been tending low lately. My guess is you saw some woodgrain in this so you picked it up.
Doh! I will give you a bit of a clue as to the grade. There are more wrong answers than right answers - a lot more.
I missed last weeks contest with some nice coins this one is a head scratcher I went 53 , on second thought I should have gone 45 .
I think I changed my mind on this coin more than anyone , but if I could vote over I'd probably change it again . I can't remember a board this spread before .
I wish I had more certified circulated coins. It sure looks like some work is needed here, 7 grades selected and 5 even had multiple votes. I had a devil of a time photographing the obverse. It is a bit mushy and between that and the grain, it did not show well. Anyhow, light wear on the jaw, cheek, and ear and mere rubs on the brow and forehead. That sounds like XF to me. PCGS called it 45. At least it was the most popular vote
Dang I knew I should have went with 45 like I said in post 14 , we need more of these tough ones Dick .
45? WOW....a generous grade IMO for PCGS. There appears to be flattening of the wheat grains and extra wear on the lapel. There's also a good deal of debris around the devices, especially the lines.
