Man i am really stumped on this one. I think it could go as high as a 66 just not quite sure on the luster. Going to give it a 66 anyways just because its a sharp coin :)

    Always tough to grade woodies.

Looks 65 to me... but the one spot on the obv left field does not appears to be part of the wood pattern,, more of a spot.. so I'll guess 64 based on the spot.

I fear one grader lower than my guess because it's a woody. It's an outstanding coin and my personal grade is a 65....but the TPG's suck at grading these IMO.

Funny - I thought age spots. But after it graded a 65. :)

I said 65. Very interested to see how wood grain treated on the grade.

I cannot find a mark on this coin. Super solid strike with Abe's beard being just about as full as I have seen. It has nice luster, but this is not its strong suit. So what does NGC grade it - UNC Detail Altered Color. I am sorry, but I don't get it.

That is pure, unadultered bullshlogger! Crack and send to PCGS. The altered/artificial/questionable color labels are nothing but cop-outs for the TPG's 90% of the time. Some coins they just don't want in a slab so they toss them into this category.

I'm surprized you kept it in that slab. I crack those open as soon as I get them back unless I think they might actually be right.....which has been never. LOL

I never crack them out unless I am going to do something particular with them. They add protection and once they are out, they cannot go back in - but I can crack them anytime I desire.
