Obverse looks 66 (Has the right color) except for the hits on Abe's cheek Reverse looks 65. Big hit on "O" in "ONE". Luster looks a bit muted. ... I said 66. I'm not a very conservative grader. -Brian
I would think the hits on abe's face would limit this to 65..... but have been undershooting them again lately... so will go 65n1.
I will be closing this and http://www.cointalk.com/t193504/ tomorrow night. Not too sure how far I can get with the evaluation and standings, but I should be able to post the new entries, but they may be a bit off on timing. I will finish them when I get back home.
As best I can figure, those marks on Abe's jaw are planchet flaws. The mark on the O in ONE is a nick. The coin has great luster and an exceptional strike for the 1953 (where high grade coins are a rarity). I am not sure how they evaluated this coin. Regardless. I think it has enough going for it to be the 66 that NGC gave it.
Sorry, but I almost forgot to enter these points. WOW! All 10 between 4.5 and 5.9. Can't get much tighter than that. Thad still in the lead and rzage moved up to third. Top 10. Columns are rank, name, average, and number of guesses.
