We will try this one just to be different and, yes, this is a satin or special mint. 2006- PCGS slabbed NOTE: If you don't vote in the poll, your vote will not be counted.
Dick, I gave this the benefit of the doubt of a 69..I really think it's a 68+ but that is me..a very sharp and a great looking example. Thanks for sharing.
Not seeing the rims makes it tough, as it is my experience that this is the area that differentiates this issue in the upper grades. I guessed 69.
I can't differentiate between a 69 and a 70, and I don't particularly care to learn how. Of course, based on my guesses here in the last three months or so, I can't differentiate between a 65 or a 66 either.
There actually is a small tick that I found on this coin. If you look real closely just a bit above the "00" in the date you can just make a bit of it out. The rest of the coin is about as perfect as I have seen. There are comments about why people cannot grade coins like this, but nearly 2/3 of you got it right. Apparently, all those naysayers got real lucky with their guesses. I am not too familiar with coins grade this high, but I do not see why this does not deserve the 69 it got.
Although seasnake pulled into the #10 spot, everyone else is pretty much holding their own. Top 10. Luster and strike, the little stuff is forgiven but these have to virtually flawless to hit 70. I think I see some issues where the bust truncates at the rim.
