    doesn't look like a pcgs slab to me.... 65.

    You are correct. That is NGC.

    I find myself contemplating a familiar question: So what did it look like when submitted?

    Hmmm...

    Going by the look of the coin in the photo, I'm going to say it graded no higher than 64. That's my guess.

    I think the coin was graded MS65. Anything lower, I can understand, anything higher, I'd be surprised.

    Definitely one I'd like to see in hand before coming to a complete conclusion.

    I might pass on this one, NGC is too unpredicable....I want to say 64.

    64 if spots were there , 65 if they were not . It's an older slab so 65 .

    This coin has real nice luster, a solid strike, and pretty much just 2 small nicks. That sounds like a 65 at least, but those spots and spotty color hurt. Without a loupe, I would probably have called it a 65. With a loupe, I would tend more to a 64. Apparently, NGC used a loupe when they graded it.
