Guess the grade of the NGC slabbed 1924 Peace Dollar in the poll above. Comments about the coin are always welcome.

Peace Dollars are one of my favorites. And I indeed suck when it comes to grading them, so, '64....weak strike, but a beauty non-the-less.

Even after this thread a few weeks back you are going to guess that NGC limited the grade to MS64 for weak strike.

Well I'm new to this forum and I decided to jump in on this one. I think it looks MS65. Very clean looking but the weak strike will knock it a notch besides some small nics . Nice Peace Dollar btw.

I'll say 65'. That mark on the eagles neck is noticeable but other than that it looks pretty nice.

I'm going to say MS66. The coin is very clean and appears to have booming luster. I know that NGC doesn't seem to care about a weak strike if the coin has a lot of eye appeal...and this one certainly does. So, I'll say they went with MS66.

I think we might have to give MikeFL(NGC)=Leadfoot(Cointalk) some credit for that one as well.

Which 1924 do you guys like better since now I own both. The auction ended a few minutes ago.

Bottom one is a little mushy from the photos....I say top one.

I like the top one better, Lehigh. I have to go with MS-65. The marks (especially the one on the eagle's neck) and the strike prevent it from grading 66. But with the toning and luster I wouldn't doubt NGC slabbed it as a 66.

I like them both. The bottom one looks to be over-exposed a little and may look better in-hand.

They both look great, but I like the gold tone of the first. Those are two nice coins! :thumb:

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

Looks at least 66 to me, and I prefer the first coin.
