First attempt at a guess the grade poll. These can be tricky to grade... ebay 093.jpg ebay 091.jpg

I can't grade those myself but to stab at it going by the reverse I picked a 45.

No idea what the TPG said as they typically bump these beyond all reason, but that coin has been harshly cleaned.

The pictures make it look worse than it does in hand. It might have been very lightly wiped, but is not harshly cleaned. It did receive a grade....

I said XF40 but what do I know. I've owned a few of them and this appears to have more wear on the wing tip, cheek and headband than any of my AUs did but I don't know if this year had weak strikes or not. So, with that being said it will probably come back AU58 and make me look even dumber than I know I am.

    Looks like it can't be a 53 ;)

I agree with the comments about a harsh cleaning, and I am having trouble seeing any trace of the MM

I've actually owned one of these that had ZERO trace of a mint mark. Here is a close up of the mint mark, before I submitted for grading. The picture has bad glare, but you can see the mark in this one. 1911-D 014.jpg
