I like the toning on this one and it's an upgrade for my type set, so I picked it up. I think I did pretty well pricewise because it's in a PCI holder, but it is one of the ten-digit serial numbered Green Label ones, so I expect the grade to be close to correct. Anyway, let's hear what you think, and i'll let you know my opinion and PCI's opinion in a couple of days.

I'm weak with this issue, so it'll be an education for me. I'll say XF45.

By golly, old Speedy is getting real good at this grading. I'm going to have to agree with his decision and wait to see how we come out.:thumb:

It's obviously too beaten to be Mint state.
Lets try AU-53 even though I don't like what looks like to be scratches.
The coin is in great condition and I love the toning.

well, it is in a PCI AU55 coffin, but when I was bidding I graded it AU50/53, I jsut couldn't see a coin with that many obverse marks getting a better grade than that. I paid XF45 money for it ($50), and that looks like about the lowest grade that anyone mentioned, so I guess I did ok.

I was a little disappointed that my first PCI slab was so overgraded even though I was careful to only consider old green-labeled ones. Oh well, lesson learned I suppose.

I still love the look of this coin though, so it is a keeper.

    Thanks for playing everyone!
