LOL! I actually cheated and went to your website. I cannot tell a lie. Bet you were wondering how I nailed it. Haha. Actually, I graded it a 64 before I went to your site so I wasn't entirely off. Those 90's are tough dates to find with a nice strike. Here is my PCGS MS63
It wasn't until after I'd already listed it that I thought it would make a good example for a GTG thread. As for well struck '91-O dollars, I believe I have 2 strong strikes in the bank that I haven't looked at for at least 10 years (collection - not inventory). They certainly are "Tough" Coins.
I don't see why, but it is a 63 . . . I bought it in the holder, and can only imagine how disappointed the owner must have been.
I was gonna say AU58, as I thought there was a little bit o'wear on it. She sure is a beautiful coin, though.
I was gonna say 63 quite a few marks 64 wouldn't have surprised me either pretty coin and great color weak strike (as usual) not as detrimental as they often are
there is a difference between weak strikes/worn dies and wear. Lady's hair suggests an XF45 or so, but not in this particular coin. Some of the earliest Indian Head Cents were like this. look VF because of flattened, dull rims. but rest of detail is sharp and patina in tact. Know thy coins!!!
