    Is the purple hue's in the back ground? or are they part of the toning?

    There is some rim toning on both sides, but I believe the purple that you see is just a shadow or reflection from the camera.

    I am in at 63 because of the chatter below he chin, If it was just the field?
    Gotta love those old ANACS holders!

    I think it's a 63 with a possible PL added. The rim toning looks like it could be really nice. :)

    Dang, everyone is on point today. I concur with the others at 63, and I'll say no PL.

    P.S. The obverse rim toning near the date is off the chain! :woot:

    I believe my photos showed the marks quite pominently. What if I had used this obverse picture:

    Im still at 63 on account of the long prominent scratch in the prime focal area.
    Are you saying it graded out higher??

    The grade is MS 62 PL; at some angles you can't see any hits.
    To me it looks as nice as many MS 63 or 64 pieces. The photos also don't show it too well, but the coin has prooflike features (maybe not enough for today's standards, but it would be close).
