I'm going with straight grade because the TPG's let some things slide on Trade Dollars that might get a details grade in other series.
I'm at a XF-40, or as ANACS would call it EF-40. I think there is enough luster and detail left to support Extra Fine. However, I've never bought a Trade Dollar nor looked at one. So I am going off of shear gut and what my eye's tell me.
I'm going to say ANACS said VF details, cleaned. Net F-12. For the record, I have seen nicer coins in "cleaned" holders from ANACS.
Yes, but this much of a slide? There are probably just a few atoms of originality left. I hope the vibe is extremely strong. And the cleaning is not old. The slick pale silver color is a diagnistic of a cleaned coin, as well as the hairlines all over the surface of the coin.
Agree with the cleaning. VF-35. Although the obverse is better. Reverse seems a little mushy. I do prefer them without chop marks.
The coin is cleaned, but the scratches aren't too bad (I'd say they can even pass for dings/hits as opposed to scratches). The coin has enough details left to appreciate the design and this will be going into my Dansco type set.
