Alright, so this coin is going to be my first submission of a RAW coin to NGC. What do you think it will come back as? Vote above and write it down below. Voting is open for 3 weeks! It's going to take roughly a month to get this coin back so we have lots of time to guess! My personal opinion, it will grade VF30
I no longer have the coin in hand, but Frank thinks it's the O-101 variety, which I looked up is the overdate 1806/5.
A little weakness and slightly rough. Still, a beautiful coin that I could only wish of owning. Seriously...great details (especially on the reverse) and a solid half that would make any collector proud. I say VF-25.
I'll say vf 25 as I said in another thread is a nice original coin I think will have no trouble making grade my call is in comparison with my pcgs vf 30 which has just a bit more definition on the motto and the hair I would not be the slightest bit surprised if they did call it a 30 but compared to one it's just a touch more worn vf -28 anyone ?
I went VF-30 , as it is close to mine but with a better reverse . I like the knobbed 6 , it's one I need , but then I do want a no stem . Maybe I can kill 2 birds with one stone and get the knobbed 6 no stem through claws but that is one expensive puppy .
VF-25 if it's real. It probably is but I've seen way too many fakes. Just asking and don't take this the wrong way but have you done a magnet test?
Just based on the randomness of TPG's, and to be different. Also I have seen some barber halves with similar patinas that were graded cleaned by NGC. Who knows? It's a crapshoot submitting coins. Hope the best for you.
That's true. NGC lets some "old" cleaning slide and "new" cleaning generally gets details. It's really up to NGC to decide how "old" is old cleaning and how bad it is.
