1952-D NGC slabbed NOTE: If you don't vote in the poll, your vote will not be counted. BTW, the marks on the obverse are on the slab not the coin.
If all the distractions are on the plastic then I'll say, IMO, MS68RD. The strike could have been sharper. However a very nice coin. Bruce
Another beautiful coin. I was going to say 66 but will add one since I've been missing the NGC coins by 1. By the way I appreciate the effort you put into your "guess the grade" posts. They are entertaining and a great learning experience.
I went 67; just curious, is the reverse slightly rotated with respect to the obverse, or is that just a slight variation in photo angle? If it were to have a slight rotation, would that inhibit its ability to get certain grade? I second that
I gave it 67. Eye popper of a wheatie. Outstanding strike and luster. I Would not be surprised if it got a 68 from NGC.
MS66-RD The only reason I did not go to an MS67 was the tick on the "U" of Trust on the Obverse. And the quite common ticks on the "O,N and E" on the reverse. Love the strike Lincoln's hair looks great and what even looks like almost mint frost coming through on the beard. Otherwise even it being a photograph the luster of a nice 50's coin comes through. Thanks for posting this, It was fun Terry
wow... 67 in any holder imo... i'd generally +1 for ngc, but not sure that method works well at 67 or higher..... nice tone, eye appeal, solid strike, clean, etc. etc... nice coin RLM.
NGC slabs do not sow the luster as well as PCGS. I am thinking that these pictures and the 49- from PCGS show about the same luster. It is not. This coin wins hands down. It is a solid 67.
Most everyone getting better scores. I still cannot believe how well everyone is doing. Can anyone tell me if you are learning my coins or actually learning to grade from pictures from all of this? Personally, with more examples, I'm getting a better feel for how your pictures portray the underlying coin
Are those names in any particular order? I'm having trouble seeing how there could be any pattern of "best to worst;" why isn't there a rank column? Thanks again for the fun I think this is my first one correct, haha.
