65 +2= MS 67 RED. To be honest, I would grade it higher because I see NOTHING distracting, but perhaps some strike weakness in the hair. I don't know what a perfect strike for this time frame would be?
I am going to close this and http://www.cointalk.com/t145433/ tonight. Christmas break time. I won't post the next one until the 29th/30th time frame.
This is one solid coin. It has a sold strike, great luster, and no distracting nicks. A couple almost hair-line nicks on the obverse are all I see keeping it from a 67 (don't I wish!).
Notice how everyone's score jumped up. Those playing did not do so well on my 15-D and 16- (#79 & 80). Larry was otherwise involved at the time. Still, 5 are closer than 1/2 a point and doing that from pictures. Top 10. Congrates Bahabully. I don't know what happens at the end but I can't seem to hold my leads on these.
I think RLM's said the winner gets all the cents listed in the exercise... ; ) it's a long race,, who knows where it'll end,, but fun to play. ! That 32 is yards better than some of the other 67's I've seen so far,,, I'd even say in the top 5% of the 67's I've seen in the thread from ngc.... re-submit that puppy RLM's,, it's deserving imo. The luster is there, the obverse merits 67 and the reverse is 68 or 69 imo.
Even though I graded MS66, I have to agree with you. Usually I look at them a couple of times, but I did this one on the first look. The second time I came back I thought - oh crap, that one is a 67. It is one sweet looking coin.
