Well here's a rosie dime with a very cool error, but i will not tell you what it is.until i get enough feedback from individuals then I will let you know when i have enough involved in the guessing game I thought it would be a good learning tool to do this from time to time to post errors and you try and come up with the right diagnostics of the coin> I thought it would be More interseting to guess errors instead of guessing the grade of a coin. So good luck everybody have fun and no cheating like HarryJ :hammer:did the other time

Shattered obverse die incorporating a 50% retained cud, an interior die break, and lots of die cracks. Rockdude's dime represents an earlier stage, before the interior die break formed.

Did you rip the photos off of Fred Weinberg's site, Jazz?

I have also seen an earlier state example of this piece.... Just from the coins posted and the one that I have seen it would make me suspect that more then just a few of these pieces got out... which for a die broken that badly is a surprise.

I've seen over half a dozen dimes struck by this shattered die. There are four die stages.

There are three other shattered dies among 2007-P dimes. There's also a 2007-P dime with a split reverse die. All produced multiple specimens.

Does it matter were i got this from I;m doing it so individusal can grasp the concept of error coins it;s a good learning tool. So why would you make a statement like that and what differance does it make where i got it if i got it on a site at all

Don;t understand that statement Mike . i thought this would be a good idea to do this which it is,people could learn this way a good concept don;t you think?>

I do like to help but you don;t see that ,that;s what i was trying to do on your site breakijng it down more so individuals can understand the idea of doubling well that;s history back to the error coin. I will post the right diagnostics soon

Actually Jazz it really does make a difference. Even if the photo is posted on a web page, the use of such photos without the consent of the owner of the site is illigal. Especially when the website has the following at the bottom of each page with a photo on it.

Copyright © 2004 -- Fred Weinberg & Co. -- Encino, California -- All rights reserved

Of course the date is different on different photos. If you did indeed take the photo off of Fred Weinberg's webpage, you are putting Peter in danger, for having it posted on this forum without the express written permission of Fred Weinberg.

Now with all that said. I do not know where you got the photo from, nor am I accusing you of taking it from his site. For all I know it could be your coin. I am just answering the question of does it matter where you got it from. The answer is yes.
