For comment below find a coin in my collection for comparison with the coin illustrated in Krause-NGC. It appears that the coin in Krause has raised lettering on the shield, while the coin in hand appears to exhibit incused lettering...new variety or have I got it wrong?

Both look incused to me also. Look at the Krause picture longer and you will see it. it's like an optical illusion.

Thanks to paddyman98 and derkerlegand for their responses. I think the older I get, the less clearly I perceive. A new pair of glasses appears likely. Thanks again guys!
