After driving 8 hours, this coin was a sight to behold. I even bought it on the clock.:troll: What was my purchase price?? 20170402_163303.jpg 20170402_161857.jpg 20170402_163242.jpg 20170402_172440.jpg It was a real chore to image this thing, and due to my crappy cell photos it looks alot better in-hand. It has that combo of toning and luster that really floats my boat. Whatteth thoueth sayeth

The coin looks a little "marky" to me. If it is as it appears, I guess $500.

If it's not, and approaches gem surfaces for a white coin, I'm putting it at closer to $1500.

What is all this $500 talk about. If I saw this coin at $300 I'd think twice, anything less I may consider it but in-hand only over $225. Knowing Heavy though he wouldn't have bought it unless it was a screaming deal and sub-$250 tops. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

    $475.
Of course, what I think is FMV and what you paid may be two different things. I probably should think about this a little more.:D

If I were selling it, I would try to get MS65 retail or more for it, so $500-$600. It looks like a 63 or 64 to me, and based on all that, I'd pay about $350 max, and I bet you did the same.

For some reason my summons did not arrive in my Alerts. I missed this until you pointed it out to me.

You are a lot like me when it comes to these kinds of coins. Personally, I'd cap myself at $275.00 raw. What you actually paid, would have a lot to do with where you bought it. If from a regular B&M, I'd guess $350.00. If it was from a bullion dealer or pawn shop without a whole lot of knowledge, I'd be at the $175.00 region. So overall, I'll guess $225.00, I think you talked them down a bit with an offer of some of your sang you just picked. LOL

If, as Heavy says, this coin looks a lot better in hand, it is likely one of the most attractively toned examples of this date. If the surfaces are in keeping with the MS64 grade, I think the coin is probably worth substantially more than $500 to the right buyer.

Is Heavy the high buyer? I don't know the answer to that question. Cascade leaves the impression that bottom-feeding is his modus operandi, so it may well be that he paid only a couple hundred for it.

I'm sure he'll tell us soon enough.
