GTPP: (guess the purchase price) Toned GSA $

After driving 8 hours, this coin was a sight to behold. I even bought it on the clock. What was my purchase price?? It was a real chore to image this thing, and due to my crappy cell photos it looks alot better in-hand. It has that combo of toning and luster that really floats my boat. Whatteth thoueth sayeth

Btw between the scratches on the slab(quite a few) and the un-toned spots (there is some textile)it does make the coin look "marky" and distracting. It is not at all distracting in hand so im not sure why the photos make it look so stand out-ish. I would hazard a guess of 64 on the coin unless the grader absolutely fell in love w it.

What is all this $500 talk about. If I saw this coin at $300 I'd think twice, anything less I may consider it but in-hand only over $225. Knowing Heavy though he wouldn't have bought it unless it was a screaming deal and sub-$250 tops. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

If I were selling it, I would try to get MS65 retail or more for it, so $500-$600. It looks like a 63 or 64 to me, and based on all that, I'd pay about $350 max, and I bet you did the same.

You are a lot like me when it comes to these kinds of coins. Personally, I'd cap myself at $275.00 raw. What you actually paid, would have a lot to do with where you bought it. If from a regular B&M, I'd guess $350.00. If it was from a bullion dealer or pawn shop without a whole lot of knowledge, I'd be at the $175.00 region. So overall, I'll guess $225.00, I think you talked them down a bit with an offer of some of your sang you just picked. LOL
