Hello folks, Im a U.S. collector mainIy and im not sure how well a guess the grade thread is gonna work in this forum but I literally fell in love with this cool artifact. My collecting range is growing and I liked this so much i went back and bought another one the very next day. These are VERY affordable!!!
Anywho, can you guess the pcgs assigned grade????

Very cool! How much does something like this run? And my wild guess is 63?

 

AU 58 to MS 60

 

To give you an idea, i located 2 for sale on the bay that were around $85 in AU, a choice unc will run you $200-$300 slabbed i would imagine... the population #s were pretty low stay tuned for the big reveal tommorow

I have never seen one of these before.

 

The Tempo era isshu and nishu Gin (Silver) examples are very common and widely available ungraded on eBay. Generally run $20 to $30 circulated. The graded populations are small because few collectors have them graded due to the cost.

 

Heres the Ef-40 i got for $25, that got me hooked on these things. Looks to have original skin, now compare to above....

Actually I got one of the gold ones and (shudder) had a loop soldered on for my wife (Japanese) to wear as a charm, also got one in silver for myself, but I really can't stand wearing a chain, so it is still in a flip...should look for it.

 

I actually think this would make a great looking necklace!! I doubt you could find a bezel this exact size, so I wonder if there is another option as opposed to solder....

 

Try Esslinger.com They are a jewelry supply outfit that sells specialty stuff like that. Got one for my 1/2 dime from them.

 

Considering the moderately low value of the coin, I was not opposed to soldering it. She really enjoys it, wears it, and gets compliments on it. I recently did the same for a fanam gold coin from India for my daughter's Mother-in-law who lives there.
