Let me add one more to it that I took last night with a scope. It's of a line you can't see in my other pics due to the streaks on the slab
I believe the coin is a 1910 Matte Proof I contacted NGC and they believe it was struck with retired matte proof dies. So I'm not sure.
The coin has a sharp finned rim with a thick square edge that is very shiny, like that of a matte proof. NGC apparently didnt like the strike even though the tell tale die scratch below the M in UNUM is present. With the gouges through TRUST and WE, it makes it a later die state. Which makes sense as there were 2 die pairs with 2 die states each. This matches one of those later die states IMO. No planchet marks are present on the shoulder either. This planchet didnt touch another planchet, just like a matte proof.
It took searching thru a lot of proof auctions. But I found both the markers. I was not able to find either of the markers on any of the Business strikes. Is there a book that tells all the markers for the matte proofs 09' thru 16'? Or an online reference?
