MS-63

 

I'd say MS-62 due to the scratch close to AMERICA. MS63 on a good day, UNC details on a bad day.

Scratches in front of the temple on the obverse and under IC in America on reverse hurt and could knock it down. A little baggy too on neck and front of cheek.

 

After having received the results of my first NGC submission, I changed my grading significantly ;-)

 

Gonna guess 64+ but looks like it may be a blazer in hand and could have great eye appeal and get a bump to 65.

 

I am at a 63, luster breaks and some field chatter on the obverse.

 

This is 100% a MS 66. At first I thought it could be a 65 but no, it is a MS 66. @IBetASilverDollar This is more proof of my grading expertise

 

Excuse me, Ed. Just locking in your grade.

lol let me guess, this is easily found on ebay? Only way ed makes 100% guesses is when he locates it somewhere

I'm in the 63 Camp......

 

I may be out in left field -- nothing unusual of course -- 62 gets my vote.

I found it on accident this morning. lol knew it had to be somewhere so that he could be certain. Well played Ed.

I have a feeling this is one of those coins that just looks awful in photos (maybe has PL surfaces that make every tiny imperfection glare). I had one like this that was a 66+ CAC that photographing it made it seem like a 64 but in hand you saw none of that. So yeah, I'd wager this one looks a lot better in hand because it looks impossible to be a 66 with the pictures.
