GTG: Bright "New" 1944 Wheat Cent

    Picked this up at auction last week - can't wait for it to arrive! Rather common date, but couldn't pass up the perfect, bright red color.

    65 RD for sure. I have a '44 that's close to yours, this is my birth year. As I recollect I paid very attractive price for it.

    Well, everybody has correctly guessed this is MS and RD. I'll leave this one up a bit longer..

    I went to do a bit of digging into whether or not this coin could've potentially been made from shell casings as is noted in the Red Book. Ultimately, Google led me right back here to CT --

    I'll guess MS 66 RD on the slab (although some of the hits might have me closer to a 65 RD)

    MS66. I got good eyesight, I can see the cuts. This is a high gem with a few cuts in the wrong places.
