Picked this beauty up today.... I guess I have a fetish for old women with white hair... @Paddy54 @Cascade @Insider @SuperDave @longshot @jtlee321
I barely looked at this coin, because I hauled in about 7 coins in less than 45 mins at the show today...That would be a nice bonus, will get back to you
I am on the 65 train as well. Although those marks below her eye and on her cheek below her ear may have held her to a 64.
The rest is so clean that a net grade up to 65 wouldn't surpise me in the least. And in front of her eye looks like a small steikethrough
Nope not it It's the Vam with the 2 notches on top of the 0... I believe you own/owned one of these before, I gave up after about 3 1/2 mins.
I agree with you on how clean it is. It's a beauty, but I know how hard the TPG's are on these S Mint Morgan's. They hold them to a much higher standard than almost all the rest, and they really shouldn't. All coins within a series should be held to the same grading standards. Even if that means there are a lot of higher grade coins in the pop reports comparative to other years, so be it.
What you say is true ;however, I don't think it applies so much to 80 & 81 S's. This would be the best thing that could happen to commercial grading for all of us. Let the dealers price them and we grade everything equally. "All coins within a series should be held to the same grading standards. Even if that means there are a lot of higher grade coins in the pop reports comparative to other years, so be it." Ain't going to happen.
From your images it looked as if there were file lines inside the 0. She's pretty for sure.....I think I'm up to 10 or so 80's Morgans
Definitive 65. Not a great one, but a good one, an illustration of why location matters for even large marks. Eye appeal is off the freaking charts. I'm jealous.
