"I have been looking for the Vam to this Morgan." That was how I originally started it. But since found the Vam. It's a fun one. I am going to try to get some details, and better photos of the markers. Here is the coin. What do you grade it and what do you think the TPG graded it. It is in a No line Fatty. Green label no bar code.
Nice coin! I haven't looked my coins or know much about VAMS. Does one VAM carry a larger value than others or vice versa? I think this is a good question for "newbies" and just casual collectors like myself. No?
It really depends on the demand for the VAM, as to any added value. If the coin is good for the grade that will also drive the cost. Believe it or not I didn't have to pay up for this coin, or the slab. I really liked the grade and the ton of die cracks. Some of them a little unusual.
I cleared up the photos a little. A little brighter. and show a little bit more of the details. I would draw your eyes to the style of the O. The date placement, and the die stage. One of the major Pick ups is the die crack from the wreath to the rim on the reverse. There is a very distinct die crack above the MM that I can't capture. Here is the best that I could get, also the MM placement. Obv, cracks at the date and the lower bust. Die crack thru Bun.
Obverse had me at MS 64 but I think this is one case where the reverse (a few too many marks) takes it down a notch to MS 63
I dunno......that first set of photogs really grabbed me, and I didn't notice the die cracks (even though they're evident). I'm probably wrong but I'll stand my ground at '66 based on those photogs. That is one lovely lady, and that ain't the scotch talkin'.
I thought that too, but I think you can still Edit it, no ? You can always ping a Mod and ask them to clear it up.
