So I finally got the grades and trueviews from my submission back after over a month (with regular service), so I thought I'd do some guess the grades. The best thing PCGS has going for it is the trueview (I'm sure some of the expert photographers on here might disagree), so for now this is all I have. 64 Kennedy trueview.jpg

Well I'm guessing because they did not light it using axial lighting, that they were highlighting the frosty devices. With that in mind, I will guess PR68 CAM.

Is that a light fingerprint on the neck? I still say PR67 CAM.

I believe those are engraving marks. Mine has the same lines in the same area on the neck. This coin was produced with a bit of haste. Missing Serif on bottom of "I" in Liberty. I hope it did not lose grade points due to corrosion next to "B".

I do believe that is a well struck coin. The serif on the I is still there. yet from what I have read, were littered with spotting, Still a very nice example.

So I didn't know they have different techniques depending on the coin. Some of the pictures look totally different and not that good, like this one, which had some nice toning and now just looks crusty:

Well, it's missing the serif but it got a couple of extra hairs so I guess it evens out. I can't believe no one saw the accented hair!

It's an accented hair, so it's interesting that it picks up the serif in the photo. In hand it's not there.

The missing sarif is a key marker for identifying the Accented Hair. AH was the first thing I looked for. There is an interesting post By Scully88 on Oct,20 2016 about the AH Kennedy Half.

@Sean5150 The hair and stars said it was, but, looked at the serif and said. Huh?

That's what threw me off. I looked immediately for the missing serif, and the photo's made it look like it was there. From there, I did not look further. Kinda crazy that the serif looks fully there in the images.

Yes, they use different techniques depending on the coin. If the coin is toned, or it is a proof coin without much cameo, they will use a combination of axial lighting and direct lighting. The combination of axial and direct lighting brings out the color for the toned coins and keep the coin from being too dark for proof coins without cameo devices.

I am going out on a limb. That coin is gorgeous. I have a PR 67 Dcam, and I think this coin is nicer. I am going PF68 DCAM
