Beautiful coin, but I was reluctant to go higher than AU58. My own '42-S is not close to that one at all.

I went MS 66 because I don't think you have or would show an AU58!:D plus nice coin.

MS-65 (interesting things going on above "Liberty" and between "United" and "States")

I agree. Also doesn't look like an AU-58. MS-65 sounds right!

MS 66 was my guess for the assigned grade.

I thought it was lower (64 or 65)....the AU 58 option looked like it might be for a certain someone :p, but now I'm wondering if it might be the grade...

Lehigh doesn't have any 58s in his collection. He'd have tipped the poker dealer with it if it graded only 58.

I attached my grade to the poll. 64
Meaning I think I see some rub on that coin.
It's light but the eye appeal makes up for it.;)

So, here is the story. I purchased a vividly toned 1975 Jefferson Nickel on E-Bay last week. The seller sent me a message that he couldn't find the coin, refunded my money, and told me he was sending me a coin for free as a consolation for the inconvenience. This is what he sent me.

The coin is definitely AU in hand, though I think it is a solid AU58. Strangely, the wear doesn't show very well in the photographs and the coin has outstanding overall rainbow toning.
