GTG 1941-S Jefferson Nickel (NGC)

Please guess the grade of the 1941-S Jefferson Nickel shown below. I have attached a poll for you to cast your vote and you may select up to 3 different things: the numerical grade, 5FS or NOT FS, and + grade.

I’m reluctantly going with 67-5FS after seeing the results of the 40D. I hope that person didn’t grade all of your coins.

I'm at MS66 here. Very clean but luster looks to limit it to a 66. I think it just missed 5FS with 4-5-5-5.

Again, messed up the poll. I didn't see the "Not FS" option...I simply voted MS66. I believe this is a MS66 NOT FS.

MS 66 5FS....the five steps are there and it only has some minor marks with relatively clean fields....but if we consider the first coin you posted to be an indication of how NGC graded this order, then I can see this as a 65

 

MS67 I don't think full steps. I think that the last two weren't struck

I’m not seeing full steps but I do see a MS-66 coin.

 

66 5 full steps. Pretty color, but luster is a little bit dull. Steps are just clean and contiguous enough to be 5 FS.

 

I voted in the poll but forgot to leave a comment. I voted 67 5FS.

 

MS65 5FS - enough small hits on the obv and rev to put it at 65.

My thought of NGC being hard on this order seems to have come partially true (unfortunately)....hopefully the others are better

 

It was the die deterioration that killed the grade, long past mid die state.
