This one is the last and probably most surprising coin from my recent NGC submission. Purchased raw a few years back on ebay for $35.

Okay, you're going to need to explain that one to me.

    By the way, I see a 65+, maybe a 6.

60 or 61 due to the reverse?

What about the reverse? If that's a 60 or a 61 to you, I hope I'm buying FROM you and not selling TO you. 60/61 is a truly ugloid coin these days.

Most likely the picture is causing some of my grading. To many contact marks. Her left hand shows wear maybe some weakness, her headdress looks like there is wear in the highest point, the luster also looks muted and I don't like toning. On the reverse the left leg has a weak strike the feathers didn't fill in. There also looks like some wear on the highest points of the wings.

It still is a nice coin and the OP made a good deal. For me that is the best part. At $35 I wouldn't have hesitated to buy it either.

    I'll go MS66.

And is that a die crack where the left wing is attached to the eagle's body?

Haha!! I was focusing on the second photo of the reverse where it seems the feathers are much more worn than they are in the first photo of the reverse. The first photo shows much better detail. I would go up to a 64 and could not get near your potential 66. I wont be buying this coin from YOU. Haha It is a great coin!

I believe it is. It is a very fine crack, not really visable in hand.

I can't see what you're seeing. I see a coin that "lived" for an extended time in a "one side visible" album. Have you submitted Walkers to NGC? I have a fairly recent (a year or so) NGC64 sitting right next to me that is an ugly beast compared to the OP's coin.

I do see a weak strike on the hand/hip on the obverse, but those aren't post-strike contact marks, they're planchet marks showing due to the weak strike.

By the way, I'm no fan of toning either, but we have to face facts - toning LITERALLY increases numerical grades these days.

I think MS65, the luster doesn't look good enough for premium gem.

I have MS64 WLs also. They look very similar to this coin with more luster. Most likely it has been graded higher than 64. And I only want it at 63 because of luster and luster only. It may look better in hand thus I would then pay more. I have not sent WLs to NGC. I haven't purchased any raw that would need grading services. So I may be behind their(NGC) curve, but, not mine.

Now if you can take away the toning then I will give it another grade point. I still would buy that coin at $35 all day long.
