Im in at au58.. The curl above the ear shows a little wear as well as in front of the ear. Upper breast feathers show a little wear too. I think its better than au55. Nice coin!
It definitely has an AU look. Based on what I can see, I'd call it AU-55/AU-58. With that said, I've seen some Washington Quarters with this look in images, but in hand they look totally different. If it is in fact UNC., then I would guess 64.
I have a tough time with Washington quarters. The image always appears soft to me. I am not seeing the wear. I am at Ms60.
It makes me wonder if it is lighting. I think that I can see luster in the dark areas, high points MS 64
Here's some other quarters in varying grades I've shot with the exact same lighting setup as a frame of reference.
AU50 if there’s enough remaining luster. I don’t know the series well, so I am not sure about this particular year. It may be known for weakly struck coins, but I just don’t see an UNC coin in the picture.
Yeah, next time if I have others for the series I'll post initially. Takes at least a bit of the grey area of the photos out of the arena. I will say that you are correct in your first assessment that the luster is full on the '35, though it is subdued and my photography skills are lacking when it comes to capturing the fullness of muted luster. I'll post the label here in a few when I get home to the computer.
Dansco. It's been my 7070 silver Washington for some time. I'm moving to a more consistent grey circulated look though, so it'll likely be on the chopping block soon.
