Here's one that I came across, that I found interesting. What do you say she grades? For the record, it's not my coin. I just found it interesting compared to how my specimen did in regards to it's GTG. I will do the reveal later this evening.
The obverse is scuffed up enough that this tops out at 65, I think. If the luster is strong (which it appears like it might be), then PCGS may have given it a 66, but I think that is a point too high. These pictures are too over-lit to give an honest impression of the coin, I think.
Jason got it correct. It's a PCGS MS-66 plus CAC!! In my opinion, I cannot see how on earth it got a 66 and then passed CAC.
@physics-fan3.14 did you happen to take a look at my 1935 Walker in the old ANACS holder? I know you didn't make a guess on it, but I would love to get your input on it compared to this one. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/gtg-1935-walking-liberty-half-dollar.286196/ Mine has what appears to be a hit across Liberty's thigh, but it looks like it was a hit to the planchet prior to the strike and there isn't any displaced metal.
No, I missed that thread. Looking at it, I think it is a contact mark of some sort - even if it is a pre-strike mark, it is still going to limit the grade.
