Ah, sweet! That thing on the reverse is struck-through debris or a detached lam on a reverse die that was a little, well, "past it." Looking real good, man. I don't care what the advertiser graders gave it, that's every bit a technical gem, and then some.
ST debris, looks like a stunning coin! The angled shots told the story. 66RD - I think the ST probably kept it out of 67.
This is one of those coins when you glance down into a dealers case ....that even though you may not collect the series it just calls your name. Truly eye candy.... I won't yet give up the grade until this evening.....but will say everyone who seen this in hand couldn't believe how nice it is. The luster just gleems...and the only flaw is the strike through on the reverse. The 1909 VDB woodie I also acquired was another Lincoln that just spoke to you on first glance. My one regret was a target toned one that was evenly rainbow toned both sides. Don't know what I was thinking but did allow it and two nice commemortives to get by me. Well if ya snooze....
Beautiful coin! First glance I was at MS65RB - you posted some other pics and I moved up to MS66RB. Definitely an item that would call your name from a display!
If you posted MS-65 RD you and PCGS are in agreement. If you said MS-66 RD you are one of the 4 out of 5 whom have seen it in hand and agree . And if you said it very well be a 67 if not for the ST on the reverse you are also far from being alone! In 65 RD it's a $100 +/- coin In 66 RD it's a $300 +/- coin In 67 RD it's a $1000 coin! I saw it in the case ,asked to see it ,asked for a price ,and the way I see it instantly doubled my money.... In hand it's a MS-66 RD easy, and this is a series I don't know a lot about...I do know for $45 I couldn't go wrong , as it's a gem with an mint error strike through.
