I’ve wanted one of these for a while but either couldn’t find one I liked or the price was too high. Today, at the VNA show in Fredericksburg, VA, the stars aligned and I got one. Not sure I’ve ever done a Guess the Grade so have at it or show yours or both. Scuffs are on the slab btw

Very nice example. This is surely an MS piece, I just don’t know how high. 64?

That's a fairly decent strike. Too bad for the slab.
I don't see too much luster but I also don't see many scuffs in the luster.
Lower MS, and possibly too long of a soak.
You can even see the nipples on the shields reverse.
    MS62.

You were both quick and right. I was hoping for a little more interest from the rest of the gang.

Yeah, you procured a good one with that piece. You waited for the right one to speak to you.

I have an XF example and think I should someday upgrade into this level.

Shoot. Should have let the thread question run a little longer. I was in at '63. :)

Seems like a good time to buy the comemms. The last show I went to, one dealer had 2 of them, a 63 and a 64. When I asked what he wanted on them, he said $550 for both. Wasn’t sure why he thought I would want 2 of the same coin but I clarified because I liked the 63 better. It was original while the 64 was too white. Anyway, he said $275 so I said no. This 64 only cost me $230.

It just so happens I’ll be at a good coin show next weekend and a few classic commems are on my shopping list! Looking for a Boone and a Illinois.
