64. Very clean coin. Nice eye appeal. I am not big into VAMs, so no guess there. Nice strike for a date that sees awful strikes.
While it's a nice looking coin, I see rim damage at 12 o'clock on the obverse and it appears to have been cleaned. I'd have to give it a 63 tops.
Heres the vam http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1921-P_VAM-1E It does have a rim bruise but i dont think its big enough to detail it. Has not been cleaned thats just the lighting or should i say lack thereof
Honestly, I don’t even think that rim bump is severe enough to detrimentally affect the grade. The 1921 Morgans have a different luster profile that can make them look like they were cleaned. It’s pretty clear from the responses that everyone views this coin as a strong MS63 or low end MS64, I would be surprised if it was graded anything else.
Not necessarily. I think the rim bruise is small and more on the surface than on the rim. Hard to tell from the photo.
