Not real. At our club meeting on Monday, our program was on fakes. The person that gave it does it for ANA and also in Colorado at meeting of the ANA. So, I would say it's a fake coin. The field is grainy, next, all the words & numbers are mushy. many disagree with me, that's OK, Send it in to get graded and see for sure. If it is real, then the pictures are not good form what I see. I got bit on an 1876 Trade Dollar. What's weight? That should tell you much. I have a complete set of walkers.
This is a key date and IDK if it is real or not. My grade is lower than other people here. Lots of wear on both sides. VF-20
I'm with @ldhair and @Searcher64 Those surfaces (even the rim) look really fake. And what's going on on the rim at 10 o'clock on the obverse? @ilmcoins - look at the surface texture of the 'worn' areas. Those areas should be smooth, and not be the same texture as the protected areas of the coin. I really doubt you could find another coin in that grade range with similar surfaces of the worn areas. Have you tried the magnet test? Good chance it is silver, as the cost to counterfeit it in silver would easily be justified. I'd like to know weight to 0.1 gram. Only reason it could look the way it does is acid, so if it is real, it's going to be a details coin.
