Discoloration on the high points (cheek and jaw bones) means this coin is an AU-58, max. I don't see significant flattening so I didn't guess AU-55.
Interesting. I gave you 7 grades to pick from. 6 of them got votes and no one got it right. ANACS gave it a 61. Yes, luster is lacking, but still I see no wear, there are very few or no nicks, and it has a descent strike particularly for this year. I would have given it a 62 and 63 would not surprise me at all.
I seen quite a few in old white anacs holders that were very conservative graded even undergraded at times
But the color of the slab does not make the grade any better or worse. FWIW, I like being able to see the date from the top of the slab.
I've cracked quite a few yellow and blue anacs slabs and sent the.coins to pcgs. Nearly all came back at the same grade a couple upgraded. One from 53-58 which I think pcgs overgraded the other from 62-64 which I figured would upgrade to 63 anyway. Anacs dose a decent job in grading I feel. Just those slabs are plain ugly!
